    Magnon topology and thermal Hall effect in trimerized triangular lattice antiferromagnet

    The non-trivial magnon band topology and its consequent responses have been extensively studied in two-dimensional magnetisms. However, the triangular lattice antiferromagnet (TLAF), the best-known frustrated two-dimensional magnet, has received less attention than the closely related Kagome system, because of the spin-chirality cancellation in the umbrella ground state of the undistorted TLAF. In this work, we study the band topology and the thermal Hall effect (THE) of the TLAF with (anti-)trimerization distortion under the external perpendicular magnetic field using the linearized spin wave theory. We show that the spin-chirality cancellation is removed in such case, giving rise to the non-trivial magnon band topology and the finite THE. Moreover, the magnon bands exhibit band topology transitions tuned by the magnetic field. We demonstrate that such transitions are accompanied by the logarithmic divergence of the first derivative of the thermal Hall conductivity.     The Effect Of The Relationships Between Affiliated Firms On Direction Of Income Shifting Within Business Groups

    In this study, we examined how income shifting performs among affiliates in a business group to maximize the benefits of the entire business group in terms of minimizing the tax burden, with a particular focus on the direction of income shifting between affiliates within the business group. We find that tax-related decision-making for the entire business group is affected by the relationships between the affiliated firms, that is, the ownership structure of the whole business group. To analyze the ownership structure, we use centrality measures in a social network analysis. The results show that affiliates with the higher outdegree-centrality; that is, firms investing more shareholdings in other affiliates have a tendency to perform more income shifting. On the other hand, the affiliates with high indegree-centrality, that is, firms which are owned by other affiliates, were revealed to be given the income shifting from other affiliated firms to minimize the tax burden of the entire business group

    Accurate Macro-Modeling for Leakage Current for I\u3csub\u3eDDQ\u3c/sub\u3e Test

    This paper proposes a new precise macro-modeling for leakage current in BSIM4 65nm technology considering subthreshold leakage, gate tunneling leakage, stack effect, and fanout effect. Using the accurate macro-model, a heuristic algorithm is developed to estimate the leakage power and generate input test pattern for minimum leakage. The algorithm applies to ISCAS85 benchmark circuits, and the results are compared with the results of Hspice. The experimental result shows that the leakage power estimation using our macro-model is within 5% difference when comparing to Hspice results

    Role of LAB in Silage Fermentation: Effect on Nutritional Quality and Organic Acid Production—An Overview

    Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) inocula play a key role in the preservation and fermentation of forage crops within inoculated silages. LAB is a significant group of the bacterial community as they successfully reduce pH, inhibit the survival of undesirable microorganisms and control nutrient loss in fermented silage. Ensiled plants and metabolites such as simple plant carbohydrates have been utilized by LAB (homo-fermentative and hetero-fermentative LAB) to initiate the production of organic acids including lactic and acetic acids. LAB as a biological silage additive provides stable feed value and secondary metabolic products during rapid anaerobic primary silage fermentation. They are able to ferment a large number of forage crops and also to reduce pH levels in fermented forages, which helps to suppress the growth of spoilage microorganisms. Furthermore, silage inoculants can enhance silage quality, nutritional recovery and shelf life of the inoculated product. When ingested silage, Lactobacilli in the rumen may degrade secondary plant metabolites as part of the rumen microbiota, along with endogenous enzymes. Also, the forages harvesting time are key factors in the development of essential metabolites particularly carbohydrates and proteins which is essential nutrition for LAB survival and production of organic acids. The higher population of LAB could reduce the pH faster and control of deleterious microbial growth in silage. This review presents LAB function in silage production and the potential impacts of its fermentative activity. In addition, the advantage of LAB additives in silage production is discussed, with a focus on recent literature
